Isla Ometepe

The cone of the volcano Concepcion; an island in the
middle of the lake of Nicaragua.

Tedious parking maneuvers to make the most
of the limited space in the boat.

Finally we're on our way.

Our captain.

Our hairy friends very unimpressed by us driving past.

The worst road ever driven by our van.

We all made it to the other end at Hacienda Merida.

Me still smiling on our way to Rio Istiam-
little did we know it was about 1h away.

After getting blisters on our hands and getting stuck
in the mudd with our kajak we made it to the river.

Unfortunately it's out of focus, but watch a light splotch
in the water on the left of the kajak.
Disregard my squealing though please...

I like these guys better on the shore...

Other less scary creatures of the river (swamp).

This one isn't so dramatic...

Andi trying to be pacient with his paddle-partner...

Evening beers after an intensive paddle day.

A short visit to the Ojos de Agua.

We were able to camp out here and have the pools
to ourselves.

Our ride back to the main land. Che has more room
for us this time.

Stunning sunset and moon rise over Concepcion.
